Without them we would soon become a Third World country, one much inferior to our current society. British ideas, represented by the Crown, have brought us to be a First World society. The current woke idea of ridding ourselves of all past ideas is harmful to our country. And these are all represented by the Royal Family. Our values, freedom and respect for each other and our neighbours come from England.
England was the source of our democracy and our morality. The Royal family, the monarchy, represents all that is moral and virtuous in our society. In addition the Royal Family has become just another dysfunctional family. Yes, the monarchy does not help us directly, and the symbols no longer represent the vast majority of the population. I am glad to see an article about the retention of our monarchy, but the writer is missing the point. The monarchy binds Canada together because without it the country would tear itself apart.
